I think social studies was something where we really hit that when we talked about government when we talked about the structure of government the branches we talked about I was able to bring in different societies that would make up these decisions you know for chiefs the Chiefs just didn’t make these decisions say we’re gonna go north you know he had advisors he had you know in the Lakota way they had shirt wearers you know in Rick Ross we in our cecee had societies that would somewhat make these decisions for you know then that our chief was ok this is what we would do in and form i understand it was always kind of consensus you know and that’s what I always brought into a lesson you know whether when we talked about government when we talked about sovereignty when we talked about tribal governments we looked at different things you know and the kids were able to talk freely about well you know my dad said about so-and-so or you know about you know and you would have to let that go and like in and as a grownup we are we have our own you know things of like wow you know and I think the most important part was my brother he’s a he’s the councilman forum for segment Fred and so you know you know some of the kids would say kind of say some stuff and I would kind of laugh and see how yeah that’s how he is you know or whatever but you know and i truly meant it I didn’t really you know and but we would always talk we would always bring in like again once again this the structure of organization within our within our culture you know it just sometimes it did this didn’t you know sometimes from an outside person looking in it looked like maybe chaos but yet there was a structure to it you know maybe at a camping you know you just couldn’t step on earth Lodge anywhere and say well you know that’s a good place over there I’m gonna go set up over there is maybe specific families that had earth lodges here there’s our clan over here or different you know areas where there was always a middle one and so that’s what we always looked about that’s what we always talked about and sometimes we kind of researched a little bit sometimes we went off we went moves way off on our social studies thing then we start looking at cultural pieces but yet we always connected it back to that to that piece and so we are that’s what we always talked about
