Learn From questions

Was there ever a time where I was ashamed of where I come from? Or misrepresented who I am? Why do I think people sometimes have a hard time claiming their identity? What stories does my family share about times they chose to hide or were forced to hide their cultural identity? How do we find humor in those stories?

We never pronounced our th’s and we went some different places I did - that - I put and you’ll probably still hear me mispronounce the TA especially when it’s two in a row I probably get him fouled up but I think it’s getting better around here no I don’t hear too many people with that unless is the older people the younger people are picking it up because I was when I was a kid that was common to my speech and I know my brother after I went to Haskell Lawrence Kansas you know where that is he started in Canada itself anyway they asked him where he was from and of course my younger brother was quite storyteller too and he’s I’m from California didn’t want to claim North Dakota at the time and they said let’s see pronounce this that and those so we went this down those so he missed them all honey you’re from Europe from Terrell Barton’s they told him so anyway those are some of the things that it was kind of difficult for me to get over and I think some of the people no don’t I don’t hear the kids getting mixed up with that too many times I hear the older people still like myself still getting caught in that
