NDNAEU 7 "Language is Everything" with Charles Moran
Watch this interview on YouTubeThat’s been ours told to me through a lot of the older ones that language is everything if we don’t know our language we can’t sing the songs we can’t converse they say ting is an Indian it can be so many totally different such a stronger meaning than this saying hello I don’t even say hello to you when I approach you Dosher zi how are you I need to say hello I’m asking how are you but that’s how we greet each other you know so with language like I said there songs to be sung the songs to be made honor songs there’s prayers they say when you pray in your language or when we die we go back to that language and our senior pallbearers talk to us in our language and they send us over there to our relatives so my fear is my client adds in my clan fathers are they gonna be able to talk to me when I leave are they gonna make sure I’m over there you know so yeah it’s it’s hard it’s but that’s the main thing I think is language once you get your language back in place that things come back to you know all the belief ways where we can weaken we can learn and we’re and get respect without language I know we can but there’s so much that involves language this spreads out in all directions as a person as a whole to be a holistic person you should know that language so that’s my that’s my mission in life is to make sure I’m fluent by the time I go and be able to teach somebody this is what I know
