ND & SD Indigenous Learning Assistant · Dr. Scott Simpson

Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: October 15, 2026

About this policy

This policy applies to the ND & SD Indigenous Learning Assistant plugin, published by Dr. Scott Simpson. It describes the publisher’s practices for the plugin, rather than the separate practices of ChatGPT or websites linked from it.

Prompts, uploads, and personal information

Dr. Scott Simpson does not personally receive or store users’ prompts, uploaded files, or contact information through this plugin. The plugin’s reference documents are supplied educational resources; they are separate from files users may upload in their own conversations. The publisher does not sell or share user conversation data, because the plugin does not provide that data to the publisher.

ChatGPT and other services

Your interactions take place within ChatGPT. OpenAI processes information under its applicable privacy policies, account settings, and agreements. This policy does not promise that OpenAI does not retain information or use it to improve its services. Review OpenAI’s Privacy Policy and your account’s data controls. If you open an external resource, that service’s privacy practices apply. This plugin policy does not describe all data processing associated with visiting the resource-library website itself.

Protecting student and community privacy

Use anonymized classroom examples. Avoid entering student names, education records, health details, or other confidential information. Do not upload restricted community knowledge or materials you lack permission to share. Follow your school’s policies and applicable requirements.

Retention, deletion, and privacy requests

The publisher holds no plugin conversation records to retain, export, or delete. Manage ChatGPT conversations and account information through OpenAI’s controls. Requests about information held by OpenAI must be directed to OpenAI.

Voluntary support contact

You may contact Dr. Scott Simpson at ssimpson@bhssc.org. Email is a separate communication channel: information you choose to send there is received by the recipient and email providers. Do not send student records or sensitive personal information. Ask about any information you have voluntarily sent when requesting correction or deletion.

Changes

Updates to these practices will be reflected on this page with a revised date.
